The Haps

Well I don't get much time to blog and I really don't have much to say anymore. But here's a quick update: I don't get time to read really any one's blog, except I Like Beer and Babies, only because her posts are usually short and child related. Having a slightly older baby than mine helps too- kind of a mini peek into the future (when she writes about him).

I am terrible about e-mailing. I get emails from friends and family and will read it, but won't reply for days. This is probably why I never get emails any more. I am sorry. I am working on that.

I learned how to drive the manual. I'm pretty decent at stick only having driven a grand total of three times, twice of which was this last week. I stalled out only twice so far, both times while parking. So- win.

I went to the doctors for a meds check and it turns out I might still be anemic, because my pills make me REALLY dizzy and light headed, so I have to get some blood drawn for that. Fantastic. BUT! I got a years worth of antidepressants all ready to go, so I'll at least be happy they are withdrawing my life essence. I got a  new shock on the scale: 252.6 lbs. This is WAY up from the last time I was there (238- 6 months ago) so I have started counting calories again. I need a new kitchen scale and more measuring cups. The funny thing is, I don't feel that fat. I still am able to do everything I normally do without a problem, and I swear I am more active, but I guess I do drink a lot of Starbucks and homemade Starbucks ripoffs.

Drake has tooth #7 coming in, a persistent diaper rash that turned out to be a yeast infection, and he has learned to say his first word. Which is... MUHMAH!!! Yay me! I'm important.

We ended up having to go to the doctor for his diaper rash because it wasn't getting any better. My grandma paid for the visit (thanks! otherwise it would have had to wait til I had gotten paid) and it turned out to be a regular ol' yeast infection. I asked what kind of OTC creams we should use and he said either Lotrimin or Monistat (both are anti-fungal; jock itch, athletes foot and vaginal yeast infection medications) so I bought a tube of each. Guys, it was a REALLY persistent infection. We alternated the medications and it's 100000 times better, and 99.56% cleared up. The creases in his leg-groin area are resistant but getting better. It's a high-moisture area anyway. Then we cover him in cream, laying it on thick like he's a cupcake and Momma's got a sweet tooth. Oh yeah. The smell of maximum strength Desitin burns my nose hair, but it helps him so that's all that matters.

He's in size 4 diapers now. He weighs 22.6 lbs and he is 25" tall. He looks at me and goes "Muh-mah" and then he crawls towards me and climbs up my legs and into my lap (with my help) and then smacks me in the face. "muh-mah". He also says it when he is playing with his toys, and when he wakes up in the morning. We are trying to teach him "da-da" now but he just shakes his head and laughs. Poor Brian.

Brian's been really pushing for more commissions and stuff, so if you want a blog redesign, or a family portrait, or any sort of artwork please visit www.brian-farrar.com or email him at contact@brian-farrar.com He has really good stuff and Christmas is coming! So get your family some nice artwork done now so you can cross them off your lists! :D

  2. Awesome! Here's a quick catch me up on me! Officially threw out wedding (you know that though). Will be commissioning some new work from Brian soon and will continue to use him in the future for some KID RELATED stuff. We're entering the adoption process! Can't wait! Hoping for a 2-some, a young sibling group (so next year you'll see some kid related stuff on my blog too). Dad is getting off chemo for a break soon before we find out the next step. He's doing great.
    And that's the skinny! :)
Now go get healthy mama! :)

  3. Glad to hear you figured out his rash situation. Such a simple fix for a pain in the ass problem.

Don't worry about not blogging. We've all been there. Life is way more important than blogs.
